SkyPilot is an Android app designed to autonomously control flights for the SkyMapper mapping tool using DJI aircraft. The app stands out from all existing Ground Station (GS) apps by its one button "plan-and-fly" concept. The app stores pre-planned waypoint templates created in SkyMapper. In the field, the user pages through the templates, positions the chosen template on the map and takes off.
During flight, the user monitors the progress with a split screen map-video display. The drone's state is monitored with an animated line of sight, in addition to the animation of the drone itself and the flight telemetry data.
